Happy Canada, Eh!

Updated: Sep 15, 2023

Shoutout to all my Canadian friends wherever in the world you may be. Proud Canadian here, I've traveled from sea to shining sea to Hudson's Bay. My parents were German immigrants. I grew up in the countryside with a close bond to nature.

Join me on:

I write about German mythology, notable women, inventions & innovators, the Victorian era, shamanic tradition, writing, nature spirits, animal spirits, art, humor, trivia. Next projects include a series of mystery books set in Ottawa, Canada in 1897, and something strange and different before then.

I lived in Banff Alberta for a while doing art among the mountains, and have truly fond memories. I've had salmon jerky on the west coast, poutine in Quebec and Beavertails in Ottawa, reveled in the red sand of Prince Edward Island, caught brook trout north of Superior in the breathtaking Great Lakes region.

Canada is spectacular with nature and natural wonders. Wilderness can extend from the Arctic to the US border. Moose, elk, deer, brown bears, black bears, grizzly bears, polar bears; wolves, mountain lion, lynx, wolverine, coyotes, orca, salmon, eagles and more amazing animals thrive in this great land with three ocean coasts. The Pacific Ocean forms the West Coast, the Atlantic the East Coast, and the Arctic Ocean is up toward Santa's workshop.

On the West Coast you can ski in the mountains and swim at the beach on the same day. City dwellers enjoy the vibrant hub of cities such as Montreal or Toronto, renowned for nightlife; romantic Victoria and Canada's capital, Ottawa Ontario, the city of Festivals.

In the prairie provinces, fields of wheat glow golden in afternoon light. Herds of pronghorn run in foothills of the Rockies. In the Yukon, you can see the terrifying trails taken by Gold Rush participants. And during hockey season, many Canadians are planted in front of viewing devices engrossed in on-ice action.
